Christopher B. McGrath, Owner, Field Operations and Management

Christine A. McGrath, Administrative & Marketing

We established Great Barns 8 years ago. Chris began his construction career in his early years, working with his father building timber frame buildings for their family business Pine Harbor Wood Products in Harwich, Ma. He continued his career there as construction manager for 25 years constructing outbuildings from Provincetown to Sandwich to the Islands. He has had his hands in thousands of buildings including barns, houses, garages, pool houses, studios, sheds, cottages and everything in between. His reputation as an experienced craftsman proceeds him and lends to his current position as business owner. Chris has also taken a special interest in his home town of Dennis and has sat on the Old Kings Highway Board where he was able to offer his vast knowledge of the town as well as construction. Chris has also taken special interest in the vitalization of antique homes and has renovated and restored a 1700’s antique from studs to a beautifully restored Cape on Historic 6A as well as building a victorian style barn that still sit on the property today. Together Chris and Christine as well as running Great Barns have renovated a “fixer upper” on a 3 acre parcel of land on Setucket Road in East Dennis and completed restoration and reproduction of an 1830’s cape in South Dennis. They have just acquired a 1780’s Cape that restoration will begin within the next year or two.

Although, Cape Cod is fairly new to her (13 years) as she is a “washashore”, Christine is inspired by the land and the people of Cape Cod. She has a fresh perspective to this place she now calls home. Her vision of Cape Cod real estate, set in its quaint, seaside villages and unique roads and homes also blends with her passion of building and renovating. Her background in the legal, real estate, administrative management and construction fields has given her all the tools she need to run Great Barns in an organized and diligent way.
